IU faces crucial test at Wisconsin this weekend

IU men’s basketball is a NCAA tournament team at the moment.

According to Thursday’s ESPN Bracketology, the Hoosiers are slotted as a nine seed. The triple-overtime win against Penn State on Wednesday night brought IU back to .500 in conference play and kept the fan base from calling for IU Coach Tom Crean’s job. IU offers 2017 Illinois guard

IU Coach Tom Crean is looking to add another player to his 2017 recruiting class after extending an offer to an Illinois guard on Thursday.

IU scores fewest points of the season at Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. — Sophomore forward Thomas Bryant was the only IU men’s basketball player who could do anything positive on the offensive end of the floor Sunday night at Northwestern.

Shorthanded Hoosiers travel to play Northwestern

The already thin IU men’s basketball lineup will be without another important player when it takes the court Sunday evening at Welsh-Ryan Arena against Northwestern.

Junior guard James Blackmon Jr. is out indefinitely with a lower leg injury per a statement issued by IU Coach Tom Crean on the IU men’s basketball Twitter account. The reigning Big Ten player of the week injured his leg against Michigan on Thursday night but still played 33 minutes in the blowout loss. Freshman guard continues to improve for IU

IU freshman guard Devonte Green saw the clock ticking down in the final moments of the game against Rutgers. His team was up 19 points, and the Hoosiers had their second conference win secured.

Instead of just dribbling out the clock and then shaking hands with Scarlet Knight players, Green decided to throw up a no-look alley-oop to junior forward Freddie McSwain Jr. The pass was on the mark, but McSwain didn’t execute the dunk, and when the horn sounded moments later, IU Coach Tom Crean marched toward his freshman guard on the court and scolded Green for his unsportsmanlike action. IU needs all-around production against Michigan State

IU men’s basketball’s big three of sophomore forward Thomas Bryant and junior guards James Blackmon Jr. and Robert Johnson have found success in Hoosier victories this 

When one of those three players struggles, it affects the entire team. But now, with sophomore forward OG Anunoby out indefinitely after sustaining a knee injury Wednesday night at Penn State, the trio of playmakers will have to play a larger role for IU.
